FOLK ART

I have never wanted to be part of a challenge. There is something about it, maybe the pressure, that doesn’t make me feel good. But, this time I decided to be part of this new challenge by Sketch Design Pattern. During 3 weeks, we are giving design prompts, and this first round is all about folk art. We are taking inspirations from historical usage of floral ornamentation and interpreting them in a modern way and according to our style. I knew about folk art, but now that I have been looking a little bit deeper into it, it’s truly fascinating! Look at it closely and you will notice the intricacy of the motifs, the unnoticed details, the extraordinary combination of colors, the symmetrical repetition. As I suspected, once I started working on my first folk art design, I knew it was going to be additive! I can’t wait to know what the second prompt will be.
