procreate or illustrator?

Do you have a favorite software or application that you rather use to design your patterns? During Covid I started playing with Procreate and I find it very easy to use. Too bad that it’s an application that uses pixels instead of vectors, otherwise it would be so easy to use motifs created in Procreate and then refine your patterns in Illustrator. I know that there is a whole process going through Photoshop to make this happen, but right now I am not having the best relationship with Photoshop. It will happen one day, but for now, I am going to give it some time. I could also vectorized the motifs and recolored them. Yes, this is easy and I do use quite often.

I created these two very simple designs, both using Procreate (left) and Illustrator (right). Because I am so used to Procreate, that design only took me a few minutes to create. With Illustrator, using the drawing tablet, took me probably three times longer. I could just stick with Procreate but then I am limiting myself to have access to some industries that require vectorized artwork.

I guess for now I will continue getting more efficient with Illustrator.
